I started going through my makeup stash the other day, and realized that I really want to put some of my quads (and the like) to work. Quads aren’t something that I collect, but the ones I do have, I really like, but I don’t reach for them very often because I tend to reach for my pro palettes most times.
So.. I thought that it would be fun to do some sort of summer project with them. I haven’t decided for sure what I want to do exactly, but I’m toying with the idea of doing one or two looks per week from June through September. That’s 18 weeks, and while I haven’t done an official count.. I think that across various brands I’ve got enough.
Nevermind.. I just did an official count, because I’m funny like that.
- 2 ~ Annabelle
- 4 ~ Lancome
- 5 ~ MAC
- 1 ~ Physician’s Formula
- 4 ~ QUO
For the rest I may pair up some of the HIP duos.. but I’ll have more details when I’ve finalized everything.
I’m excited!
For the past week, I was dog sitting at friend’s house. Obviously that meant that I had to haul all of my hair/face/skin stuff with me.
Joy.
It was a bit ridiculous when I looked at all the travel bags on the counter, but I’d rather over pack instead of worrying that I didn’t have something, or having to make a trip home to pick up the missing piece. Certainly I didn’t come close to using everything (as far as makeup is concerned), but I did make a pretty good dent. The fact that I actually used some of my oft-neglected quads/palettes made me happy, in a makeup geek sort of way. Pre-made sets are always attractive to me, but I never end up using them as much. This past week I was happy to get some use out of them, and feel like they weren’t a complete waste of money.
Now that I’m home, I have to put everything away. I’ve been thinking about doing a bit of a re-org with my collection. I’m actually just finishing off with it right now. There is something oddly therapeutic about going through everything and making it tidy, which is odd for my usually disorganized self.
For the makeup fans out there, how often to you go through your collections?
